Two Months on Whidbey Island with Carol

Invitation to Work with the 39/46 Series Movements in North America

during June and July, 2017 on Whidbey Island (2 hours from Seattle) with Carol and Komal

In support of the 39/46 project that plans to culminate in a presentation of the entire series of movements in Goa, India in February 2018, Whidbey Akhaldans will be conducting on-going practice with these movements in June and July 2017.

Anyone with experience in the Gurdjieff Work and the Movements is invited to come and practice with Carol on Whidbey Island for any length of time during these two months. Intensive group retreats will be facilitated by Carol and Komal on the following weekends

  • July 1-4
  • July 7-9
  • July 14-16.

Since 12 of us first gathered to dance the entire 39 series in 2013, this project has brought together teachers from many lineages. This cross-fertilization of approaches, practices and experience has been predictably intriguing and nourishing.

We are working with a common set of notes that requires most of us to unlearn other versions; it is not a pronouncement of ‘better’ or ‘more correct’. This provides experienced dancers and teachers a unique opportunity to work together and to discover afresh even well known movements.

Costs will be kept to a minimum. Carol has 3 guestrooms and dormer style sleeping that will be free on a first-come, first-served basis during these two months. Food costs will be shared and meals prepared collectively. There will be some additional charge for the weekend intensives, to be shared with those who express interest.

Whidbey Island offers other beautiful living situations including many quaint inns and airbnb options.  Whidbey Akhaldans is located in Coupeville, WA on five madrona-forested acres overlooking Penn Cove and is a two-hour shuttle trip from SEATAC airport in Seattle.
